Abraham Lincoln & Me Primary Source Activity Book for Early Readers
Students are active learners when they are engaged in real-world activities. This project allows students to become familiar with primary sources while learning about Abraham Lincoln and fostering a personal connection to this great U.S. president.
Monumental Men
Through image analysis and individual and group project work, students learn about the characters and contributions of the Mount Rushmore presidents and determine what qualities and accomplishments make someone worthy of a lasting tribute.
Presidential Portraits
This project helps students to learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln while also using objective and subjective techniques to analyze primary source images. Students contemplate how presidents are portrayed, then pose for their own presidential portraits.
Abraham Lincoln Papers at the Library of Congress
This collection consists of approximately 20,000 documents, most from the 1850s through 1865, and organized into three "General Correspondence" series.
The Gettysburg Address
This Library of Congress online exhibition features background information on this great speech and the preservation of the drafts, as well as images and text transcriptions.
